Ironman World Championship

Wow, what a long few days! Kona was amazing and inspiring. I'm pretty accustomed to being around really fit people, but I've never seen anything like Kona during Iron week. We had such an awesome time and saw many friends. You couldn't walk down the street without running into multiple people. I've never watched an ironman from start to finish and lets just say the 21+ hours I spent watching the race did not disappoint. It was exhilirating, tiring, emotional and inspiring! Louis was fortunate to have the most up close and personal spot during the swim- he was a volunteer on a paddle board during the entire swim! I was a pro spectator, running to all the "hot spots" to see all the action. In fact, I was on the Inside Triathlon website and it turns out we knew exactly where to be at all the right times and therefore made it into many photos! Tribuys.com athlete and friend Craig had an amazing IM debut and took 2nd place; the first ever double amputee became an Ironman; a female British powerhouse who was an unknown a few days before became a world champion and I finally got to hear the words "you are an ironman" at the finish line of an ironman. I can't wait for next year!
